About Shelter
Opens in a new window
You don't have to be living on the street to be homeless. You may be legally classed as homeless if you are sleeping on a friend's sofa, staying in a hostel, suffering from overcrowding, or other bad conditions.
Shelter believes everyone should have a home and our work won’t stop until there’s a home for everyone.
Shelter's goal is to help more people in housing need than ever before by:
- supporting more families
- increasing the capacity of Shelter's website and helpline
- creating new integrated advice and support hubs in areas where there is the most need
- putting the housing crisis back on the national agenda
Shelter and the Andy Ludlow Homelessness Awards
Shelter has been a sponsor of the Andy Ludlow Homelessness Awards since they began in1999.
